Bicycle panel approves East Chelmsford Connector trail route

CHELMSFORD — The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee endorsed revisions to the Great Lakes to Boston Paddle Plan. The committee voted to replace the former eastern route with the East Chelmsford Connector, responding to a request from D. Chandler, with Committee Chair R.

Klinkhammer noting an ongoing access constraint near Canal Street where the public right-of-way transitions to private property after approximately 460 feet. The committee also added a rail trail safety issue at Golden Cove Road to its questions for the Department of Public Works, discussing a "guard" barrier concept designed to slow trail users before crossings.
