Commission delays vote on updated design guidelines; reviews sign compliance issues.
Historic District Commission · Meeting of March 2, 2026
CHELMSFORD — Historic District Commission welcomes new member, continues sign and lighting enforcement. Chair Brenda Lovering presided over five commissioners present at the March 2 meeting. The Commission delayed distribution of finalized design guidelines until the April 6 meeting, after revising a letter to the Thai Restaurant owner regarding an unauthorized lighted "Open" sign and planning a letter to Metro Credit Union about excess lighting.
A dentist office on Chelmsford Street will also receive notice of non-compliance; the Building Inspector will be asked to inspect. Commissioners will conduct individual site visits to a Westford Street property where unauthorized siding may have been installed despite prior approvals.
