Historic District Commission approves library book sale banner for district.

Historic District Commission · Meeting of April 6, 2026

CHELMSFORD — The Historic District Commission unanimously approved a temporary banner request from the Chelmsford Public Library Friends group advertising spring and fall book sales. Chair Brenda Lovering and commissioners Donna Ready, Marie Cumming, Lisa Grasso, and Janet Askenburg voted to permit signage within the historic district for April 26-May 3 and September 27-October 4. The Commission also authorized Askenburg to contact the Building Inspector about enforcement procedures and outreach for illegal business signs after a Town Meeting Representative raised concerns about signage proliferation in Chelmsford Center.

Three enforcement matters were tabled pending the presence of Commissioner Deb Taverna at the May 4 meeting.
