CHELMSFORD — Planning Board opens zoning overhaul ahead of fall town meeting. The board unanimously approved a two-story, 4,283 square foot commercial building at 91 Tyngsboro Road with conditions on snow storage, stormwater management, and dumpster access, after Attorney Catherine Flood confirmed revised plans met fire and department of public works requirements. The board held the first of multiple public hearings on eight zoning articles covering child-care facility definitions, contractor facility classifications, data center regulations, and rezoning in the 210 Boston Road and Riverneck Road areas; extensive public comment on Riverneck focused on whether the change from Industrial to Commercial-Light-Transition zoning with Community Enhancement overlay would enable high-density multifamily development, with Chair Chris Lavallee noting proposed restrictions on building height and lot coverage are more stringent than current allowances.
