Chelmsford Planning Board continued a three-lot residential subdivision and opened data center zoning work. Vice-chair Joel Luna presented a framework addressing hyperscale and colocation facilities, citing the Lowell Markley Data Center with 27 backup generators and 160,000 gallons of on-site diesel fuel; the board assigned members research homework before June 10 with plans to draft definitions. The board also advanced 210 Boston Road rezoning to CB light for a proposed coffee shop and approved version 3 of contractor yard definitions organized into three tiers based on equipment and vehicle types, permitted variously in residential, commercial, and industrial zones.
Acting Town Manager John Sousa resigned from the Managed Growth Strategy task force; Michael Raisbeck agreed to assume co-chair duties.
