Recycling Committee approves April minutes, tracks waste volumes.

Chelmsford Recycling Committee completed April minutes and reviewed tonnage data for the fiscal year. Sustainability Manager Chris Haley reported 256.38 tons of curbside recycling and 919.94 tons of trash in April, with contamination levels remaining at 10 percent. The committee concluded multiple successful events in late April and early May, including household hazardous waste drop-off and paper shredding serving nearly 665 residents combined.
The single-use black plastic warrant article, led by committee members Rebecca Gore and Lindsey Sieber, is scheduled for a June draft after surveying restaurants and gathering community input; the final version will go to the Finance Committee and Select Board by early August with no changes thereafter.
