Recycling Committee charts course for spring outreach and black plastic ban effort

The committee is advancing a black plastic warrant article modeled on Newton's ordinance, citing contamination fees that exceed pure trash disposal costs.
Spring events include Farmers Market tabling, a "Plastic People" documentary screening, rain barrel distribution, and volunteer recruitment; Rebecca Gore was appointed recorder of action items. The CHS Eco Club is piloting a composting program for compostable food trays, with a field trip to Billerica Water Treatment scheduled for March 19.
