CHELMSFORD — Recycling Committee approves events calendar and reviews end-of-year tonnage. The committee moved forward with a spring and summer event schedule that includes Farmers Market tabling, a FixIt Clinic on February 1, and a "Plastic People" documentary screening on March 22 at the Chelmsford Library with a budget of approximately 350 dollars. Curbside recycling totaled 237.93 tons in November and 333.63 tons in December.
Sustainability Manager Chris Haley reported December trash collection at 950.75 tons against November's 830.43 tons. The committee also discussed a single-use and black plastic warrant article, with the Board of Health designated as the enforcing agency for any resulting bylaw.
