Select Board approves elevator modernization project and food pantry renaming.

CHELMSFORD — Select Board approves three liquor licenses and elevator project in single session. The Board unanimously awarded the $897,210 elevator modernization contract to Enterprise Equipment Company and approved restaurant and package-store alcohol licenses for two establishments, contingent on final departmental sign-offs in one case. The Board also unanimously renamed the Chelmsford Food Pantry in honor of founder and director Sandy Donovan, who led the facility for twenty-seven years.

Town Manager Paul Cohen presented the FY27 budget, noting that health insurance premium increases were held to 8 percent after the town eliminated GLP-1 drugs for non-diabetic patients, and reported that Police Chief Spence will retire effective June 1, 2026.
