Select Board approves Ferreira Brothers Bridge designation bill

CHELMSFORD — Select Board endorses House Bill 4723 to name Gorham Street bridge after Ferreira Brothers. Chris Ferreira presented the Board with family history of his grandfather and three great uncles, two World War II veterans, with one serving in the town highway department and another at Fort Devens. The Board voted unanimously to endorse the bill and urge the legislative delegation to support it.

Separately, the Board awarded the South Row Elementary School roof replacement to WPI Construction Inc. for $2,027,878 and the electrical panelboard replacement to Daigle Electrical Construction Corporation for $68,686, both unanimously approved.
