Tree Committee approves sample memorial tree plaque, advances spring plantings.

TREE Committee · Meeting of February 11, 2026

CHELMSFORD — Tree Committee approves memorial tree plaque, moves 2026 planting program forward. Christine Clancy reported approximately 35 quality applications received for the front yard planting initiative, with capacity for roughly 50 trees; the DPW will assess suitability and conduct site visits before final approval. The committee unanimously approved a sample plaque design for the memorial tree program, which has received two serious inquiries to date.

Previous 2025 plantings are surviving winter without visible damage, though committee members identified pruning needs, particularly at the dog park. Ian Farley will coordinate a website development session with the town's website manager ahead of the next meeting.
