Chelmsford Golf Qualifies for States for First Time in 30 Years

A student representative reported at the Oct. 20 School Committee meeting that the Chelmsford High School golf team has qualified for the state championship tournament, set for Monday. The representative said the team has had individual qualifiers in past years but had not qualified as a full team in 30 years, calling it "a big, big deal."

The representative also announced that the girls' volleyball team has won the Merrimack Valley Conference championship on the strength of its MVC record, which included a win over Central, described at the meeting as "a big school."

Separately, the Class of 2028 Pickleball Tournament fundraiser, held Oct. 14, was called "a big success" by the student representative, who said Dean McGuizek and Ms. Salone won the tournament for the second year in a row.

The representative also noted that Chelmsford High's senior Halloween dance is set for Saturday, Oct. 24, with tickets sold at lunches through Friday, Oct. 23, and that National Honor Society members are writing cards and collecting donations through Oct. 23 to support local first responders ahead of National First Responders Day on Oct. 28.
