Chelmsford's Vinal Square Committee Picks Pocket-Park Clock Design, Shifts to Artificial Plants

CHELMSFORD — April 6, 2026 — Chelmsford's Vinal Square Committee advances clock tower installation for April 29 and moves to artificial plants. The Vinal Square Strategic Action Plan Committee, chaired by Bill Gillette, selected the "concept two" pocket-park layout for the upcoming clock tower installation, accepting the loss of two parking spaces in exchange for a raised curb that better protects the clock from vehicle traffic. Christine Clancy of the Department of Public Works confirmed that dig-safe clearance is in place, electrical work begins the week of April 13, and the clock goes in April 29.
