Vinyl Square Committee Cancels December Session, Plans January Return
CHELMSFORD — November 10, 2025 — Chelmsford's Vinyl Square Strategic Action Plan Committee canceled its December meeting and will reconvene January 12. The committee received an update that the town's Main Street assessment has produced a preliminary design document, with a public meeting expected in January or February and capital funding of roughly $500,000 per phase across three phases targeted for fiscal year 2027 — covering sidewalk work, intersection reconfiguration, and traffic-calming measures between Main and School streets and Main and Groton Road. Committee member Evan Belansky reported that a two-page outreach mailing is ready to go to more than 90 businesses in the Vinyl Square area, seeking candidates for the committee's open storefront business representative seat. The Vinyl Square holiday tree lighting remains on track for December 6, 4 to 6 p.m., with a volunteer decorating session set for November 30. Library representative Nancy McKenemy-McComb announced the Golden Chain Garden Club has offered three beautification visits per year to the McKay Library site.
