School Committee · Meeting of July 28, 2026

CHELMSFORD — The Chelmsford School Committee approved Superintendent Jay Lang's annual evaluation and heard a push to accelerate the Parker Middle School funding vote to February. The committee approved the End of Cycle Summative Evaluation by roll call, with members Susan, Diana, John and Maria voting "aye," rating Lang's performance "proficient" to "exemplary" across all four standards. Member Dennis, reporting for the Parker Middle School Building Committee, said the state will reimburse "approximately 52 percent of all of the eligible costs" and warned that delay could push construction from 2028 to spring 2029.

The committee also unanimously approved the 2026-27 student handbook, the Chelmsford High School addendum, and the employee handbook published July 2026. Year-end iReady data showed students exceeded expected annual growth, reaching "112 percent" of typical growth in math and "129 percent" in reading district-wide.
