Planning Board · Meeting of September 9, 2026
Chelmsford Planning Board recommended eight zoning bylaw and map changes for Town Meeting and continued a Lady Slipper Lane subdivision hearing to September 23. Chair Chris Lavalley guided the board through town-counsel-revised articles covering contractor yards, inclusionary housing fees, data centers, and rezoning along Riverneck Road and 210 Boston Road, all approved unanimously. Board member Mike objected at length to rezoning Industrial A parcels on the far side of Route 3, saying "the traffic issue alone really isn't quite strong enough," but ultimately voted with the majority.
At 9 Lady Slipper Lane, attorney Hausler presented a revised three-lot subdivision plan dropping a previously proposed accessory dwelling unit and rerouting access through a newly acquired parcel, while abutter Matthew King disputed a new easement theory tied to a prior town land purchase. The board approved July 8 minutes 7-0-1 and July 22 minutes 6-0-2, reflecting member absences, and moved its October 14 meeting to October 7.
